If you are an absolute beginner, or have had some training but want to learn more, then our beginner/intermediate dance classes are for you!
Classes are very affordable and students are pleasantly surprised by how much they learn and how far they progress. Our classes are challenging but we make sure everyone can master the moves!
Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary & Hip Hop students will learn a routine in each class to perform in the Premier Concert. Costumes required.
Ballet is an essential part of any dancer’s training. Ballet will bring grace, strength, technique and poise to a dancers presentation. Classes include stretching, barre and centre work following the Russian Borovansky Syllabus. Students will also learn a beautiful ballet routine to perform in the concert.
Learn a variety of jazz styles from Broadway to current video clip moves. The classes are fun, challenging and the choreography is fresh. You will learn kicks, turns and impressive leaps. Become more flexible, coordinated and learn combinations that are simply awesome. Students will also learn an energetic jazz routine to perform in the concert.
As often seen on TV show "So You Think You Can Dance", contemporary is a creative, interpretive dance style that combines technique in ballet and jazz to produce beautiful meaningful routines. Students will learn an expressive contemporary or lyrical routine to perform in the concert.
Hip hop is a funky street style of dance with loads of energy, attitude and groove as often seen in music videos. Premier’s hip hop students learn to interpret the music and move in a unique way that complements the track. Students are taught a variety of styles including hard-hitting hip hop and smooth lyrical styles and are encouraged to develop their own unique choreography and dance style. Students will also learn an awesome routine to perform in the concert.
Classes involve an extensive warm up followed by a series of exercises to improve strength, flexibility, balance, control and agility. Student’s work towards achieving left, right and centre splits. Leaps, kicks, layouts and turns are practiced and perfected with a focus on correct technique.
Students learn skills such as handstands, hand walking, cartwheels and aerials, elbow stands, handsprings, walkovers and summersaults. These skills are usually executed slowly with grace, creating beautiful bodylines with extension. Acro/Gymnastics offers depth and variety to dance routines, and creates a much more versatile dancer. Students will develop strength and flexibility. When students are learning new skills, the teacher utilises professional spotting techniques to ensure safety and build confidence.
