U12 Beginner & Intermediate (2006 - 2007)

If you are an absolute beginner, or have had some training but want to learn more, then our beginner / intermediate dance classes are for you! Classes are super affordable at less than $10!
Students are pleasantly surprised by how much they learn and how far they progress. Our classes are challenging but we make sure everyone can master the moves!
Ballet, Jazz & Hip Hop students will learn a routine in each class to perform in the Premier Concert. Costumes required.
Ballet is an essential part of any dancer’s training. Ballet will bring grace, strength, technique and poise to a dancers presentation. Classes include stretching, barre and centre work following the Russian Borovansky Syllabus.
Learn a variety of jazz styles from Broadway to current video clip moves. The classes are fun, challenging and the choreography is fresh. You will learn kicks, turns and impressive leaps. Become more flexible, coordinated and learn routines that are simply awesome.
HIP HOP / BOYS HIP HOP
Hip hop is a funky street style of dance with loads of energy, attitude and groove as often seen in music videos. Premier’s hip hop students learn to interpret the music and move in a unique way that complements the track. Students are taught a variety of styles including hard-hitting hip hop and smooth lyrical styles and are encouraged to develop their own unique choreography and dance style.
Classes involve an extensive warm up followed by a series of exercises to improve strength, flexibility, balance, control and agility. Student’s work towards achieving left, right and centre splits. Leaps, kicks, layouts and turns are practiced and perfected with a focus on correct technique.
Acro Dance incorporates elements of gymnastics, jazz, balancing and contortion with safe technique. Students learn Acrobatic tricks such as handstands, hand walking, cartwheels and aerials, elbow stands, handsprings, walkovers and summersaults. Trick movements are usually executed slowly with grace, creating beautiful bodylines with extension. Acro Dance offers depth and variety to dance routines, and creates a much more versatile dancer. To master an Acro Dance trick, students must develop a good foundation of strength and flexibility, thus emphasis is placed on extensive conditioning and stretch and strength training. When students are learning new tricks, the teacher utilises professional spotting techniques to ensure safety and build confidence.
